Role Overview: Mech Electrics are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our client’s team in the Oxford area, working on a high-value house block project and the role offers a unique opportunity to manage mechanical engineering projects from the design phase through to installation and handover and the successful candidate will be a key figure in ensuring the project meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and commercial success. Note: Project Managers with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply for this position. Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership: Manage the entire project lifecycle, from initial design through installation to final handover. DFMA Expertise: Lead the development and implementation of DFMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) risers and plant rooms, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards. Safety & Quality: Uphold rigorous safety and quality standards throughout the project, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and company policies. Contract Management: Oversee contracts under NEC4 Option A, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and that the project is delivered within scope, on time, and within budget. Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure cohesive project execution. Commercial Awareness: Demonstrate strong commercial acumen, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements while maintaining project quality and safety. Problem Solving: Identify areas for improvement, implement necessary changes, and proactively address challenges to keep the project on track. Client Relations: Maintain and nurture strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded. Qualifications & Experience: Industry Qualifications: Relevant industry qualifications are required. Experience: Extensive experience in a similar role, ideally within a Tier 1 building services company. Contract Knowledge: Strong experience working with NEC4 Option A contracts. DFMA & Plant Rooms: Proven experience with DFMA risers and plant rooms. Safety & Quality: A strong commitment to maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. Project Management: Experience in managing projects from design through to installation and handover. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage teams, including contractors and subcontractors.
