Job overview
As a Trust, we’re always on the hunt for skilled staff who want to work flexibly. Our in-house bank provides cover for fluctuating workloads, staffing shortfalls or when there is need for extra support.
Whilst regular work is not guaranteed, applicants can give as much or as little availability as they wish. Please note Bank workers are asked to work 45 hours in a rolling 6 month period to maintain an active bank post.

Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, motivated Healthcare Assistants to join our bank team. We are looking for caring individuals who have a fully flexible approach to support in line with demand; ideally, you will have experience within a medical or nurse-led service.
You should possess excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to adapt to working in different environments. We expect all Bank staff to be reliable, to offer flexibility, and to have enthusiasm for the role.
Successful applicants must possess excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
Working for our organisation
For the Nurse Bank, it is desirable to have had a minimum of six months paid working experience as a Care Assistant / HCA either in a care home or hospital setting. A minimum of six months voluntary or unpaid care experience will also be considered. Care experience will need to be demonstrated within the application and interview. Duties should include some of those listed in the attached Job Description, with clear experience of providing personal care as part of the role. The six months experience paid or unpaid needs to have been completed in the last 3 years and for bank / agency / relief work, evidence must be provided to show you have worked regularly during the period referenced.

DBS Checks
Please be aware that all new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary either in 1 payment or over a six month period once you start employment. By applying you are agreeing to this undertaking. If you are successful you will be asked to confirm if you wish to pay in one amount or in instalments. The charges are currently £27.38 for a standard check and £55.38 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for.
