At Simply Education, we are seeking a teacher who is experienced in teaching students in KS3 or KS4 and has some knowledge and understanding around the importance of supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. QTS is not required, however experience is essential for this role. As part of this position, there is no marking or planning required.
SEMH teachers play a crucial role in supporting students who face challenges that may affect their ability to learn and thrive in a mainstream classroom environment. You will be playing a vital role within the school, creating, and maintaining a nurturing and inclusive learning classroom, allowing the students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Implement effective behaviour management strategies and interventions to support students in regulating their emotions and managing their behaviour. This includes the use of positive reinforcement techniques and using de-escalation methods when necessary whilst following the school's behaviour policy.
