We are seeking a multi skilled Building Maintenance Assistant to join our client, an established industrial manufacturing business based in Mildenhall.
The role is offered on a part time basis with hours to be agreed depending on both the candidate’s wishes and their level of experience. Hours on offer will be between 18-30 per week dependent on skills and experience to be worked flexibly to suit the candidate between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday to Thursday.
It is a permanent, employed role with an hourly pay rate between £12.50 - £15.00 per hour, again, depending on skills and experience.
The Company
Our client has been operating for over 50 years and are an independent business who manufacture batch chemicals for blue chip companies globally. Their finished products are fine chemicals and polymers, used for making anything from sealants, adhesives, dyes, paint, oil additives and many other products.
They employ around 35 staff and have a respectful workplace with a traditional, friendly and fair company culture. Each member of staff is well looked-after and can enjoy pay increase and progression opportunities in exchange for long-term commitment and great work ethic.
The Job
The purpose of this role is to work solo in ensuring that the building and its site (not the manufacturing plant itself) is kept in tip-top condition, and is well-presented to the outside world.
You will be based within the five-person engineering team and can work out of their workshop as your ‘base’ but this role will involve spending time all over the site, fixing things, tidying and making good all sorts of things! From decorating to shrub trimming, fixing loose door handles to loos, external site cleaning, weeding and about everything in between. Occasionally, you may be asked to conduct some internal cleaning duties if the Site Cleaner is on holiday, or off sick.
Requirements
This role would suit an adaptable person who has great DIY skills and a keen eye for detail. You’ll need to be a tidy worker and take real pride in a job well done. If you have any additional skills, such as carpentry, mechanics, etc this would be beneficial but is not essential. You will need to live nearby their site in Mildenhall, ideally within a 20-minute commute.
