Reporting to Senior Communications Manager, BRC, the post-holder will provide effective and professionalsupport for the development and implementation of the BRC’s Events, Marketing and Engagement Strategy. The post-holder will lead on the design and implementation of events, marketing and social media campaigns working closely with the BRC Senior Communications Manager.
Main duties of the job
Duties will include market research; report writing; undertaking user surveys; organisation of conferences/events both in person and online and consultations.
The post-holder will need strong negotiation and influencing skills in engaging with a range of internal audiences and external stakeholders, where cooperation and agreement is needed on key projects. This would include working with the Senior Business Development Manager to engage industry, as well as being an advocate for public involvement in translational biomedical research through collaboration with other relevant groups and initiatives.
The post-holder will demonstrate competency and diplomacy in developing strong working relationships internally and externally, and deliver high standards of work. Key relationships will include the BRC’s Director, Head of Operations, Senior Communications Manager, Public and Community Involvement, Engagement and Participation Lead, and other members of the BRC core management team, as well as BRC Theme liaisons and the OUH Media and Communications Team, including Oxford Medical Illustration.
The post-holder will also be expected to maintain a close working relationship with the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) infrastructure, both locally and nationally, as well as the communications and public engagement counterparts in OUH, the University of Oxford Medical Sciences Division, Oxford Brookes University and other partners.
