Yield Engineer - 12 Month Contract (with extension) - Ipswitch, UK
Role Overview:
Join our team as a Semiconductor Photonics Yield Improvement Engineer. You’ll analyze and resolve yield issues, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvements in photonics semiconductor manufacturing. Your expertise in III-V semiconductor device physics and problem-solving will be crucial to advancing our production efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze production data to identify and address yield detractors.
2. Optimize manufacturing processes to improve yield and reduce variability.
3. Conduct root-cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
4. Collaborate with process, design, and quality teams to resolve issues.
5. Manage and report yield data for both production and R&D products.
6. Integrate new technologies to enhance yield and efficiency.
7. Lead continuous improvement initiatives for process and product quality.
Qualifications:
Required:
1. PhD in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
2. Experience with III-V photonic or optical semiconductor devices.
3. Proficiency in failure analysis, SPC, and Six Sigma methodologies.
4. Skills in Python scripting and large data analysis.
Preferred:
1. Knowledge of lasers, optical devices, and advanced manufacturing processes.
2. Experience with tools like MS Excel or Minitab.
