Job Description
Our client, in partnership with Installation Technology, is delivering the Telecoms Commercialisation Project (TCP) across 136 London underground stations and the adjacent tunnels. This system will enable 4G & 5G coverage layers on the London Underground Network. The newly installed antenna system will be tested, commissioned, and integrated as per industry standards. The Data Comms Infrastructure Designer will be required to compile low-level design and as-built documentation packs for submission into the client's document management system. Packs are comprised of multiple documents, including, but not limited to, Topologies, Schedules, General Arrangements, and Space Applications, and will require review and validation prior to submission. The role will focus on Station designs but will expand to Gate 5 – As Built submissions to address volume challenges as they occur. This is a hybrid role (2 days a week at our client's office in Stratford and 3 days from home).
Key Responsibilities
* Knowledge of designing comms infrastructure or working on as-built packages including CMS, Cat 5 / Cat 6 cabling, is highly essential.
* Knowledge of TFL project delivery on London Underground infrastructure is key to this role.
* Good standard of education (A Levels/Equivalent) with Project Management Experience.
* Document management experience - Managing, writing, implementing, prioritising, and compiling various project documents.
* Liaising with various stakeholders.
* Understanding of Cabling Infrastructure Standards.
Additional Requirements
* Post Design/Post AIP comment ownership, triaging, and actioning ahead of any handover to a Designer for the main pack submission.
* Collation and management of information and documentation across several station work streams and suppliers.
* Manage the smooth flow of design and as-built documentation through the system and track progress.
* Identify issues and opportunities for efficiency.
* Support the programme manager in managing client expectations and ensure deadlines are met.
* Client-oriented with the ability to be part of the project team.
* Positive attitude to change.
* Act as a company ambassador at all times.
