Anexciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a part time Band 6 SpecialistDietitian ( hrs/ week) to work within a Macmillan Specialist Head and NeckRehabilitation team Local Support Team. You will be working alongside aClinical Nurse Specialist, Cancer care coordinator and a Speech and LanguageTherapist.
Thisis an ideal opportunity for a motivated individual to join this team to providesupport for patients after they have received head and neck cancer treatmentboth surgical and non-surgical and beyond.
Main duties of the job
TheHead and Neck Local Support team run multidisciplinary focused outpatientclinics at St James Institute of Oncology, Leeds. We are looking for amotivated, enthusiastic Dietitian with excellent communication and team workingskills, to work as an integral member of this team. You will be responsible forproviding highly specialist nutritional assessment and advice to patientsrequiring nutritional support particularly Enteral Nutrition. Experience ofenteral feeding and knowledge of oncology and enteral feeding is required.
You will also work alongside all team members andsupport them in developing, implementing and maintaining an excellent service and improving the cancer patient experience. In addition, the team run a Head and Neck posttreatment educational programme. You will also be involved in the organisingand planning of this.

Job responsibilities
Toprovide part of a professional Nutrition and Dietetic care service within a
Specialistarea. This includes advice to in-patients, out-patients, all healthcare staffand participation in the training of student dietitians. Shows initiative inassisting and supporting the senior specialist dietitians and the ClinicalDietetic Manager in the day to day management of the department.
Thepost holder will:
1 Manage own case load to a level agreed withsupervisor/line manager.
2 Be involved in the provision of educationand training to healthcare staff, patients, care providers and students.
3 Be a key member of the multidisciplinarycare team to provide integrated dietetic care.
4 Shows initiative in assisting andsupporting the senior specialist dietitians and the chief dietitian in the dayto day management of the department.
5 Deliver training to healthcare staff, dietitians and students.
6 Be an active member of the out of hoursservice.

Qualifications
Essential
1. BSc(Hons) Nutrition & Dietetics or Equivalent Experience of working as a Dietitian within a healthcare setting.
2. Attendance on relevant specialist accredited post-graduate courses at post-graduate diploma level or equivalent
3. HCPC registration.
