Part Time Night Worker – Women Only Bristol £27,179 – £29,970 pro rata Are you looking for a part time post where you can play a vital role in supporting vulnerable adults in Bristol? We are looking for people to join us as part time peripatetic Night Workers as part of the Bristol Out of Hours Service (BOOHSI). The service provides out of hours trauma informed support to 5 accommodation services across our mixed and Women’s pathway, aimed at strengthening the existing provision of support to clients with multiple needs and experiencing homelessness. As an out of hours Night Worker, you will work in pairs alongside another night worker, visiting up to 5 different accommodation services at night. Planning your time well, and taking instruction from day staff and on-call managers you will: Provide vital support and assistance to clients at night, be available to listen and deal with people’s individual needs as they arise. develop a good knowledge of relevant protocols and safety precautions so that you can appropriately deal with emergency situations that arise during your shift. Carry out relevant building and welfare checks, monitoring issues like noise in the locality and within the building and carrying out relevant administrative tasks and incident reporting. Be provided with training and development to ensure you feel confident to carry out your duties and provide high quality services to our clients. Work on the rotating night shift rota. With typical shifts from 7pm – 1am, 4 nights on and 3 nights off. For genuine occupational requirement reasons, we are looking to appoint a female only for this post (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9). About you These roles will suit people who have the ability to empower individuals to make positive changes through active listening, understanding, and a client-centred approach. Good communication skills, and the ability to handle situations assertively and creatively. Some experience of dealing directly with the public and/or clients or customers in a busy service environment. The ability to be reliable, awake and alert during your shift and be able to stay calm and use your initiative in the event of an emergency. Planning and time management skills, and the ability to follow administrative procedures and maintain clear and accurate records. Be willing to lone work at times, when required by the service. Due to the nature of these roles a full UK or equivalent driving license and access to a vehicle is essential for this post.
