Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Health & Safety Advisor, based in Aberdeen. This is a 12 month PAYE contract role with hybrid working options available. The role has a strong emphasis on Occupational Health and Safety matters so experience in this area is an essential requirement. This role will require offshore visits and some international travel as well.
Responsibilities:
1. Liaise with the asset and corporate management team as well as external organisations to develop and execute appropriate plans to manage, monitor and improve OHS performance.
2. Act as the client’s onshore focal point for communication with the offshore Safety Advisors, Medics and Safety Representatives; asset team focal point for all OHS queries (OQs).
3. Coordinate independent induction and advice to FPSO crew and contractors including ISSoW, CoSHH, radiation and noise.
4. Maintain a register of OHS aspects, impacts and risks for each operating asset.
5. Ensure the OHS compliance register is kept up-to-date and addressed by operations.
6. Ensure that contracted OHS services are scoped, guided and the results interpreted and shared with the asset team. Liaise with external organisations.
7. Coordinate incident review and close-out cycle.
8. Coordinate base asset Emergency Response support activities including Emergency Response exercise annual plan creation, execution and lessons learned follow-up, as well as rota training and competence assurance.
9. Keep track of changes of relevant OHS developments and advice on implications and ensure that the clients standards are compliant.
10. Review RM's (modifications) on changes that could influence OHS risks.
11. Participate in Risks Assessments related to OHS.
12. Contribute to the yearly corporate audit plan. Conduct OHS audits.
13. Monitor and report OHS performance for on- and offshore facilities. Coordinate monthly HSE KPI reporting of the assets and participate client HSE meetings.
14. Develop and facilitate the implementation of yearly KPI's and OHS improvement targets for on- and offshore facilities.
15. Report OHS performance to line manager and asset manager.
16. Liaise on a day-to-day basis with the HSE team in Aberdeen.
Specific Requirements:
1. Fluent in English both written and spoken.
2. Willingness to perform activities abroad (onshore, offshore, vendors or with clients).
3. Occupational Health and Safety experience supporting offshore operating assets is essential.
4. Visit assets on a regular basis.
5. Experience with UK OHS legislation and requirements of main regulatory bodies.
6. Experience in auditing and incident investigation (Kelvin Topset methodology).
