Based in an inner city multi-racial area of Leeds, Chapeltown Citizens Advice is an independent charity with 12 paid staff and 45 volunteers that provides a comprehensive advice service from its main office and outreaches. We have a vacancy for the following:
Immigration Adviser (Family Reunion) (OISC Level 2) - Maternity Leave Cover
This is an exciting project with the University of Leeds Law School. The role involves taking on family reunion and permanent residence applications for clients in our locality and supervising and training student volunteers to assist you in your work. One day a week will be spent at the University of Leeds.
Responsibilities
1. Understand the complexities of immigration law, compose concise arguments, and present a coherent case.
2. Speak confidently in public.
3. Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4. Demonstrate understanding of, and commitment to, the aims and principles of the CAB service and its equality and diversity policies.
5. Deal with clients in a sensitive and professional manner.
