Assistant Psychologist B4 - Primary Care Psychology Service
We have an opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist B4 post in an established Primary Care Psychology Service in South - West Shropshire, based in Ludlow.
The Primary Care Service mainly provides a Group Programme, but also assessment and formulation with some individual intervention for people with serious mental health problems as part of Mental Health Transformation. You would be working with Clinical Associates in Psychology and Peer Support Workers and will receive weekly supervision from Clinical / Counselling Psychologists. You will be linking in with the wider South Shropshire Community MDT.
We have an active Assistant Psychologist’s Group, regular Care Group Psychology meetings and a strong focus on supervision, development and training.
You will work alongside the Clinical Associate in Psychology and qualified psychologists offering psychological and clinical input into Primary Care in order to meet the needs of people in primary care with complex psychological needs and provide support to general practice and mental health staff working in primary care.
You will deliver and further develop a group programme for Primary Care Psychology, and liaise with third sector groups to meet needs of local area.
You will employ research skills for audit, policy and service evaluation and development and research.
To support and enhance psychological care by assisting qualified practitioners, Assistant Psychologists and Peer Support Workers, in the delivery and evaluation of cost-effective services that meet Trust and Directorate objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations. To develop and deliver a group programme for PCN/ Primary Care Psychology.
To support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the service, providing psychological assessment, formulation and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with the Clinical/Counselling Psychologist and within the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures.
To work with clients and staff of the primary care and secondary care mental health services. To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
