Role: Survey Manager
Location: UK Offshore Wind Farm
Scope: Geotechnical Surveys
Rotation: TBC
Start Date: December 2024
Duration: March / April 2025 + Possible Extension
Rates: £800 Daily Rate Inside IR35 via Umbrella
Clearance: BPSS (DBS, Financial Probity, Employment History) + Proof of Right to Work in the UK
Scope:
Survey manager to deliver a specific geotechnical scope of work within the project team. The candidate will report to the project's Survey Package Manager.
Role Description:
Geotechnical surveys:
All Offshore Representatives must meet the following minimum criteria:
1. Level 8 NQF qualification in related discipline (Geotechnical Engineering / Geology / Geophysics).
2. Minimum 3 years offshore marine surveying supervision experience.
3. Demonstrable experience of supervising the types of survey/investigation detailed above.
4. Experience in performing the role of survey manager for offshore wind ground investigations.
5. Possess good organisational and communication skills in the offshore environment.
6. Experience in monitoring contractor's performance and resolving issues on site.
7. Experience of monitoring, inspection, and control of quality documentation on site.
8. Fluent English speaking and able to write technical reports in English.
9. Computer skills: MS Office applications (Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
10. Familiar with vessel emergency response procedures and understand the role of Offshore Representative in an emergency.
Accountabilities:
Duties shall include:
1. Ensuring compliance with safety, health, wellbeing, and environmental standards are reached and where possible proactively improved.
2. Reporting to the project Manager.
3. Reading and understanding relevant scope of work & specification documents.
4. Reading and understanding survey contractor project execution plan.
5. Participating in Technical Kick-Off meetings with survey contractor.
6. Attending the Vessel Mob and port calls circa 1 time per month. (Possibly in the UK or Netherlands).
7. Responsible for mob report/checklist, and ensuring overall deliverables are achieved.
8. Attending daily calls, tracking progress, managing works optimisations.
9. Co-ordinating team to ensure minimal disruption or delay to survey if fishing kit or other obstacles are encountered.
10. Maintaining standards set by client's values, golden rules, and ways of working.
