Post-16 Lead – reporting to Head of Provision
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Post-16 Lead to oversee our new Post-16 provision. The Lead will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and personal development of our students. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching and meeting the needs of our SEND and SEMH young people. You will be passionate about teaching and have a strong commitment to helping our students to prepare for their future careers in adult life.
You will provide guidance and support to other staff to ensure the delivery of exceptional teaching and learning and guarantee that the individual needs of every student are being met.
Working pattern: 08:30 – 16:00 Monday to Friday, term time plus one week.

Summary of role:
* Lead and manage the Post-16 provision, providing mentorship, supervision and support for your team
* Develop and implement a cohesive curriculum that aligns with educational standards and student needs
* Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Maths/English Functional Skills, Employability and Life Skills
* Actively seek opportunities for work experience, apprenticeships, volunteering for the students
* Assess student progress
* Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages engagement and success
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop cohesive teaching strategies
* Maintain accurate records of student progress
* Adapt teaching methods to support students with additional needs
* Support with student transitions into apprenticeships/jobs
* To ensure outstanding safeguarding practice and actively promote the welfare of all students
Person Specification:
* Level 5 in Education & Training or equivalent - Essential
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with SEND & SEMH young people - Essential
* Supervision, team leading or management skills - Desirable
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Essential
* Excellent organisational and time management skills - Essential
* Good safeguarding knowledge - Essential
* Familiarity with e-learning platforms - Desirable
