Role: Nursery Deputy Manager
Location: Islington
Salary: £24k – £26k
To oversee and deliver a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care and education for children at the Nursery, in line with the Nursery Values and Ofsted Standards.
To ensure quality of provision and work with the manager to ensure the nursery's planning and provision of a learning environment meets the needs of all the children in respect of their care and education.
To manage, implement and monitor the childcare system and support other team members and the nursery management.
Main Duties:
1. Deputise in the absence of the nursery manager.
2. Work with the manager to devise and carry out a quality planning and evaluation system to meet the requirements of the EYFS within the room.
3. Train and mentor staff to work with the management team in respect of the development and review of the service.
4. Train staff on how to complete quality observations and accurate assessments.
5. Lead on planning and implementing the 2-year integrated review checks, working with health professionals, families, and key workers.
6. Ensure all practice offers safeguarding of children.
7. Ensure assessments accurately reflect child’s development by working with parents and key workers.
8. Be flexible within working practices of the nursery and be prepared to help where needed, including undertaking certain domestic jobs within the Nursery, e.g., preparation of snack meals, cleaning equipment, etc.
9. Work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the philosophy behind the nursery is fulfilled.
10. Respect the confidentiality of information received.
11. Be willing to undertake training and development as may be required.
