Luton Council is looking for a welcoming and organised Music Centre Receptionist to support the smooth running of our Music Service. If you have excellent customer service skills and a passion for music or education, we’d love to hear from you!
About the Role:
As the first point of contact for parents, students, and visitors, you will provide a friendly and professional reception service at our Music Centre. You’ll assist with administrative tasks, support staff and students, and help ensure the centre runs efficiently.
Please note this role does not attract sponsorship.
About you
What We’re Looking For:
Reception & Customer Service Experience
1. Previous experience in a reception role, particularly face-to-face customer service.
2. Ability to greet and assist visitors, parents, and students in a warm and professional manner.
Music & Education Background
1. Experience working in a music and/or educational environment is desirable.
2. Some knowledge of the educational system in England.
Teamwork & Organisation
1. A strong team player who can work collaboratively.
2. Ability to follow procedures and guidelines effectively.
Technical & Administrative Skills
1. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience using database entry systems.
2. Ability to provide written feedback to the Music Service Office after each session.
Health & Safety & Safeguarding
1. First Aid trained or willing to undertake training.
2. Fire Warden trained or willingness to train.
3. Safeguarding and GDPR trained, or willingness to complete training.
Education & Other Requirements
1. GCSE English or equivalent qualification.
2. Willingness to work flexibly to support service needs, including helping at end-of-term concerts, transporting documents to the LMS office, moving instruments, and setting up furniture in rehearsal rooms.
