Assistant Development Manager (Planning Enforcement & Trees) 37 hours per week Salary range: £48,915 - £56,729 per annum About the Role Are you an ambitious planning professional looking for a new role for the new year? This could be the opportunity for you. This is a key role, in the service. The primary function of the job is to manage the Council’s Planning Enforcement and trees team and to assist the Head of Planning in the delivery of the wider service. The team is currently fully staffed with permanent team members, and comprises of 4 Enforcement Officers and a tree officer. We’re looking for an experienced planning professional who has the knowledge and interest to carry out this key specialist role. The ideal candidate would have practical experience of complex enforcement and some management or supervision experience, though we are keen to hear from candidates with a wide range of planning experience. In particular we need someone with strong communication and negotiation skills and a customer focused approach. About You The successful candidate should be an effective manager of people and resources as well as a good negotiator. You’ll lead on complex and interesting cases while managing an experienced and well skilled team. Personal qualities are just as important as professional skills. The successful candidate must work in a highly collaborative way with other functions, be persuasive while respecting the views of others, possess tact and diplomacy, be resilient and handle stressful situations well.
