The Company
Londinium are excited to be working on behalf of a dynamic UK-based commercial construction contractor. They want to add a Commercial Assistant who will assist in various stages of project delivery, from initial costing and planning through to site management and successful project completion.

Job Overview
My client is looking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic Commercial Assistant that will take on a multi-task role, offering the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across key areas of construction management, including estimating, quantity surveying, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Estimating & Costing:
Assist in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and other documents. Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and pricing for materials, labour, and services. Analyse tender documents and break down costs into manageable elements. Prepare tender submissions and ensure all documents are completed and submitted on time.
2. Quantity Surveying:
Support the senior team in cost planning, forecasting, and tracking throughout the project lifecycle. Assist in preparing and managing bills of quantities, contract documents, and valuations. Monitor project costs, ensuring budgets are adhered to and any variations are identified and reported promptly. Help manage subcontractor payments, including valuations and payment notices.
3. Project Management:
Assist in planning, organizing, and overseeing construction projects from inception to completion. Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery. Help monitor project progress against schedules, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met. Attend project meetings and assist in producing progress reports for management and clients.
4. Health & Safety:
Support the implementation and adherence to health and safety policies on-site. Ensure that all work complies with relevant legal regulations and industry standards.
5. Site Coordination:
Assist in coordinating day-to-day site activities, ensuring that materials, equipment, and labour are available as required. Help manage and resolve any issues or delays that may arise during construction.
6. Learning & Development:
Take a proactive approach to learning and development, seeking guidance from senior team members. Attend training and workshops to develop a strong understanding of construction processes, contract law, and project management principles. Keep up to date with industry trends, best practices, and changes in building regulations.
