We are seeking a Health and Safety Advisor with relevant experience to work for a civil engineering contractor covering projects across the South of England.
As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will conduct risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend control measures. You will provide health and safety training to ensure workers have the necessary knowledge and skills. Regular site inspections and audits will be carried out to proactively identify dangerous conditions and unsafe practices. You will advise management on compliance with health and safety laws and regulations. As an advisor, you will report regularly to management and promote a strong safety culture across the workforce through leadership, communication, and motivation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing and implementing health and safety best practices, ensuring compliance with legislation
* Maintaining safe systems of work and a safe environment for all employees
* Conducting new starter inductions, identifying training needs
* Organising regular safety meetings, audits, and inspections
* Investigating accidents and near misses, identifying causes and preventative actions
* Recording keeping and metrics reporting to track health and safety performance
* Acting as a safety ambassador, leading by example to motivate safe behaviours
The ideal candidate will have:
* NEBOSH certificate
* Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
* Able to display experience in a similar role, preferably in civil engineering or construction
* Drivers Licence
* CSCS
