Sales and Engineering Support Engineer - Telecare and Security - (Electrical Trades)
Company Overview:
Network Communication Systems Ltd (NCS Ltd), has been trading since 1992 and designs, develops innovative Telecare/Telehealth and Door Entry/Access Control products and systems. Since the introduction of its own product range, the company has seen rapid growth and requires a person to fill this role.
Job Overview:
To undertake the following duties:
* Engineering Support – To resolve system faults and undertake small work installations. Undertake Project Management.
* Sales Support – To liaise with customers, carry out site surveys, prepare quotations, and other sales-related duties.
The above are all related to: Telecare, Warden Call, Access Control Systems, including Door Entry/Fob Access Systems, CCTV and Automatic Swing Door Operators.
Hours of Work: Standard Hours of 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday 8.30 am until 5.00 pm (on-site). In addition, you will be on a call out a rota of 1 in 2.
Remuneration: £30,000 to £45,000 per annum (Depending on Location, Qualifications, and Experience).
Objectives of the Post: To provide the highest quality engineering support services to the full range of company and third-party products in an efficient and professional manner, continually meeting or exceeding given performance targets as directed by their Service Manager.
Duties:
* To repair and maintain existing equipment and systems across the full range of products.
* To continually exceed performance targets as set by your Manager in the areas of productivity, quality of workmanship, first fix rate, stock control, and attendance at work.
* To demonstrate a comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of all the company's core products both in their repair and functionality.
* Perform preventative maintenance checks and first-line repairs to key products and systems to ensure potentially disruptive issues are proactively averted.
* To provide technical assistance and training to other members of the team and customers as directed by the Company.
* Identify issues that lessen customer satisfaction and actively participate in their resolution and future prevention, while adhering to the company's policies and procedures.
* To be able and willing to work outside geographical boundaries, to demonstrate co-operation and flexibility in meeting the demands of customers throughout the business.
* Assisting with installation-related activities such as; site visits/commissioning/surveying etc. Undertake installation work.
* To be a highly motivated and enthusiastic team member positively promoting the Company as a world-class service provider.
* Be part of a standby rota to support all company products.
* To undertake project planning and management from inception to completion of projects which may include, system design, site surveys, preparing BOMs, estimating, preparing quotations, preparing commissioning certificates, inspecting works, signing off works, agreeing valuations and liaising with all stakeholders.
* To prepare and submit Risk Assessments/Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work.
* Away from home, an overnight stay is a requirement of this job where there is a need and estimated to be less than 25 nights per year.
Experience, Skills, and Personal Attributes:
* Must have 1st class man management and technical experience in the sector that we operate and be able to communicate at all levels.
* A CRB check or similar check will be required as directed by the company policy.
* Must be computer literate and skilled in the use of Microsoft Office, including MS Project and MS Visio.
* An electrical/electronic qualification is equivalent to or above an NVQ level 3 or similar.
* Must have basic knowledge of IP Networks such as Routers, Switches and IP Endpoints such as CCTV cameras, Access Control, etc and how to configure them.
* Full UK driving license.
* Be able to demonstrate problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Be able to demonstrate Customer focus – the customer comes first.
* Be flexible in their working hours.
* Have a can-do attitude toward achieving goals.
* A pass at ONC level, equivalent NVQ Level 3, or demonstrable alternative in a technical discipline (specifically Electrical or Electronic Engineering).
* Comprehensive and in-depth technical understanding of the Electrical and Electronic systems /principles.
* Ability to demonstrate a good working knowledge of networks and IP-based systems and how to fault find them.
* As a team player, they will be highly motivated towards achieving both the Company’s and their own personal goals.
* IEEE 18th Edition Certificate.
* IEEE Inspection and Test certificate.
