Our client is seeking a Senior Engineer – Product Safety for a contract position in Scotstoun, to be responsible for the Product Safety assessment of complex subsystems or specific technical disciplines. To undertake a range of Product Safety activities in line with all relevant project and corporate processes and any specific customer requirements To facilitate the implementation of relevant Product Safety processes and production of deliverables including safety case reports To maintain the Hazard Log, performing updates as requested by the safety team and providing statistics as required by management Key Tasks Provide support to the Function TA teams with the management of the hazards, risks and associated mitigations and contribute to the development of the hazard log and the maturity of information contained within. Verify the quality of submissions to the Hazard Log Produce monthly statistics on the contents of the Hazard Log if required Organise and facilitate (if required)HAZIDs and review meetings and contribute to other HAZIDs when required. Provide specialist risk analysis techniques and safety case argument Work with the TA teams and embedded Safety Engineers in collating adequate PS related evidence to support the safety case and acceptance via the Requirements and Acceptance Team Interface with stakeholders – both internal and external. Participate in the creation of PS artefacts, including SDSA / SCR (safety argument and assurance) Participation and recording of workshops, meetings etc in cooperation with technical authorities. Monthly metric reporting if required Key Skills / Knowledge Knowledge of safety management processes and techniques Working in more than one phase of the Life Cycle Management (LCM) framework, with sufficient experience of the total LCM to enable a good understanding of adjacent phases and through life engineering issues. Awareness of customer (Ship/ System Safety) standards such as:- DSA-02 JSP430; Def. Stan 00-56; MilStn 882E BS EN 61508 Familiar with the Product Safety Management Framework ADZN1_UKTJ
