The successful applicant for the Head of Procurement role will be working for a fast-paced, privately owned technology provider who is expanding rapidly and has big plans for future growth. In this newly created and business-critical role, the successful candidate will take ownership of all Procurement activities dealing with a supplier base that spans a range of major tech and telecoms providers. Building exceptional supplier relationships based on service and value is seen as critical to the organization's ability to grow and further develop their business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage contractual and commercial negotiations with vendors by building and managing cross-functional teams where required, securing the best possible terms for the business.
2. Effectively manage suppliers to ensure the optimum level of service and value is provided to enable future growth for the business.
3. Lead and develop the skills of the wider Procurement team.
4. Build a network of suppliers to further expand the supply base and mitigate risks where appropriate.
Key Attributes:
1. Strong procurement experience from working in the Tech/Telecoms sector or from working in an IT Procurement role in a different sector.
2. Experience managing major tech and telecoms suppliers on an ongoing basis.
3. Ideally, past experience of working for fast-paced, rapidly expanding SME organizations.
4. The ability to work in the Birmingham area at least 2-3 days per week.
