Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative Speech and Language Therapist to join a well-established, supportive and experienced Speech & Language Therapy Team, working in the Central Integrated Health Community (IHC) of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB). Supervision and support will be provided by our experienced team of Speech and Language Therapists whether you are newly qualified or looking to develop your existing skills. This is a full time permanent post. As a successful candidate you will have a recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree and HCPC registration. However, we will consider applications from final year Speech and Language Therapy students. We would consider appointing the successful candidate on reduced hours and at a band 4 until completion of their degree course and full qualification as a Speech and Language Therapist is obtained. Main duties of the job You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills (including observation, listening and empathy skills) to support the individual needs of children, and families, working together with professionals in Health and Education Services. With support, you will organise, plan and prioritise your own workload, and develop appropriate strategies for caseload management. There will be the opportunity to develop skills in the training and education of school staff, partnership working with parents and the development of therapy programmes. Working within our services for preschool and school-aged children, the successful candidate will work alongside other Speech and Language Therapists to assess and treat children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs who are educated in Conwy and Denbighshire. There will be the opportunity to contribute to service delivery in community clinics, preschool settings, mainstream school settings, specialist school and resource base settings, and Language Resource Provisions. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
