What you’ll need to succeed To become a teacher of plumbing and heating, you'll need a combination of technical and teaching skills. Here are some key skills that would be beneficial: • NVQ Level 3 in plumbing and heating • City and Guilds or equivalent in Electrical installations • 5–10 years of plumbing and heating experience • 5–10 years electrical installation experience If you do not hold a level 4 or equivalent teaching qualification, you will have the opportunity to obtain this within 5 years from the appointment date, which will be funded by the college.
