IT Manager
Location: Central Manchester (5 days onsite)
Role Overview:
We are looking for a hands-on IT Manager to take charge of IT operations for a growing organisation based in Central Manchester.
This is an onsite role, providing the opportunity to work closely with the team and ensure seamless IT support and infrastructure management for a business of 40 staff members.
This position is ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys taking full ownership of IT systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Office Management: Ensure the IT environment within the office runs efficiently, resolving issues quickly to minimise downtime.
* Hardware & Network Management: Oversee all aspects of hardware and networking, including servers, workstations, networking equipment, and peripherals.
* IT Strategy & Business Alignment: Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the organisation’s goals and ensure IT systems integrate seamlessly with core business functions.
* Office 365 & Applications: Manage the Office 365 suite (including email, SharePoint, and OneDrive) and other key office applications, providing end-user support as needed.
* Helpdesk Support: Run a reliable helpdesk service, handling day-to-day IT support for staff, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a high level of service delivery.
* Device Management: Manage company devices (laptops, desktops, mobile devices), including configuration, software updates, and security compliance.
* User Account Management: Oversee user accounts, access permissions, and onboarding/offboarding processes to ensure a seamless experience for all employees.
* IT Infrastructure: Maintain and improve IT infrastructure, ensuring it is secure, reliable, and aligned with organisational policies and standards.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as an IT Manager or in a similar role overseeing IT operations and infrastructure.
* Strong technical expertise in hardware, networking, and Office 365 administration.
* Experience managing a helpdesk function for medium-sized teams (50+ users).
* Hands-on knowledge of device management, including mobile device management (MDM).
* A problem-solver with the ability to work proactively and independently to ensure all IT systems function smoothly.
* Familiarity with aligning IT strategies to business objectives and ensuring systems are fit for purpose.
