Job overview
The Outpatient Department of The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital has undergone a major transformation programme to improve the patient experience. As part of this, we have created a full-time position for a band 5 adult nurse. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic registered adult nurse with a minimum of 12 months post-registration experience to join our team. You will ensure the patient’s treatment is of the highest standard.
We are looking for someone to work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that our patients feel safe and welcomed into the department. You will function as a clinical practitioner, responsible for the delivery of patient care, managing and organizing a workload daily. In addition, you will supervise junior staff and mentor nursing students.
The working hours of the department are Monday – Friday with a variety of shifts between 8 am and 7 pm.
Main duties of the job
Candidate will be responsible for setting up and running clinics in the outpatient department, assisting clinicians, including chaperoning, pre-assessment, and complex wound dressings.
Candidate must have good communication skills and be able to work as part of a team. Phlebotomy is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
