The Recruitment Co. is urgently recruiting an Import/Export Clerk to join our client's team based in the Gorseinon area.
Hours of work: Full time Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
Salary: Up to £30,000 p.a depending on experience
Contract: Permanent
Main responsibilities:
* Liaising with clients once new shipment requests are received in a timely manner
* Checking systems to obtain correct transport dimensions & weights
* Requesting quotations from hauliers, agents & carriers
* Forwarding official quotations to clients for approval
* Booking shipments with hauliers, agents & carriers ensuring the correct client information and paperwork is created and adhered to
* Liaising with collection and delivery contacts, including hauliers, on a daily basis
* Obtaining invoices & proof of delivery
* Updating & invoicing jobs to clients dealing with internal & external account queries
* Obtaining all the required documentation & information from clients
* Being responsible for the accurate preparation & completion of Import & Export Customs Declaration & Delivery documentation via third party bespoke software or Government Portal
* Communicating / emailing various documentation to clients, hauliers, agents & carriers
* Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, hauliers, agents and carriers
* Prompt communication of problems, in particular emergency situations in accordance with established Emergency procedures
Candidate requirements:
* Ideally, you will have relevant experience working in a similar role
* Communication/customer service skills: able to deal with clients and suppliers
* Account management skills
* Computer literate & strong administration skills
* Good attention to detail
