Environment Advisor
Farringdon
Day rate £350 (outside IR35)
Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a high-profile civil engineering company to recruit an Environment Advisor, to work on various civil engineering and construction projects. This role will join an established Environment and Sustainability team, offering the selected candidate the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and gain exposure to a number of large projects.
This organisation has a track record of successful delivery of high-profile projects and the environmental agenda is core to their operations.
Key responsibilities of the Environmental Advisor will include:
* Supporting the delivery of the environmental policy, ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations across a wide range of projects
* Carrying out site inspections and audits, undertaking environmental and sustainability assessments such as BREEAM
* Helping to maintain the Environmental Management System, and assisting in preparation for Environmental Management Plans, Site Waste Management Plans, and permit consents
* Monitoring environmental performance of projects, seeking opportunities for improvement
The successful Environmental Advisor requires:
* Environment or sustainability experience within the construction, civils or related sector, or a keen interest in the sector
* Ideally knowledge of ISO14001 and BREEAM
* Qualified in an appropriate environmental discipline, and ideally professional membership with a recognised environmental body (IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM)
* A passion for excellence, and an ambition to grow and develop a career within the environmental space
