Doncaster Deaf Trust has been an established part of Doncaster for almost 200 years. We offer specialist education for children and young people with a range of communication needs, including Deafness, Neurodiversity and Learning Disabilities. We comprise of a nursery, school, children’s home, college, and adult services.
Our multi-disciplinary team (MDT) includes Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Audiology, Counselling, and a team of committed Teachers of the Deaf, Tutors and Support Staff who all work together to provide the best support for the children and young people in our care.
Our staff are offered excellent supervision and training opportunities, including BSL Qualifications up to at least Level 3.

JOB SUMMARY
We are looking to employ an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist for an exciting new position working as part of the Doncaster Deaf Trust (DDT) therapy team to provide services both onsite at DDT and externally to local FE Colleges within the South Yorkshire Colleges Partnership (SYCP).
As part of your role you will provide assessment and therapy to students with a range of communication needs within the SYCP, and recommendations and training to staff working in these settings. You will also support students onsite at Doncaster Deaf Trust who have varied needs such as Deafness, Neurodivergence, and Social Emotional & Mental Health needs.
Your role will be predominantly working within the 16+ age range, but you will also have the opportunity to work with a younger paediatric caseload within DDT (Little Learners’ Day Nursery & Doncaster School for the Deaf).
You will work within our supportive Therapy Team, currently consisting of Speech and Language Therapists, an Occupational Therapist, a Therapy Manager and a Therapy Assistant.
The successful candidate will hold a degree in Speech and Language Therapy and be a registered member of the Health Care Profession’s Council (essential) and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (preferred). Experience in the areas of d/Deafness, neurodivergence, learning disability and education would be desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.
