Arm's Userspace Performance team is looking for skilled Java performance analysis engineers to join a growing team. Successful candidates will help improve the performance of software running on Arm systems used across the world.
You will join a team of Software Engineers who all share a passion for wanting to stamp their mark on the future of computing, wherever it may lead. We are searching for engineers that can help us understand the differences of how large Java applications perform on the latest Arm platforms. In collaboration with engineers that understand different aspects of the platform you would strive to identify and narrow down the performance issues. The ultimate goal is to improve how Java applications run on Arm platforms.

Collecting data about how Enterprise Java workloads run and analyzing it to understand the bottlenecks and what investigate next.
Designing experiments for the team to perform in order to find performance issues and confirm that the our understanding is accurate.
Analysing and improving large codebases for different performance aspects.
Documenting the analysis performed, sharing knowledge within the team and wider.
Producing write-ups and presentations to help other developers handle similar problems.
A Bachelor’s (or above) degree or equivalent experience in a STEM subject.
You are experienced at tuning Java application performance on multiple levels including frameworks and JVM.
You will have excellent understanding of a few Java Enterprise frameworks.
You have experience in profiling and tracing large applications to find bottlenecks of performance
We highly value experience with running Java applications on diverse platforms including different CPU architectures.
We desire knowledge about JVM internals like JIT compilation, garbage collection, memory allocation...
We are seeking understanding of OS concepts such as processes, threads, locks, virtual memory and how they relate to application performance
