Acts to maintain personal safety and security as well as that of others. Support the full implementation of all trust policies in the management and delivery of safe clinical care. Identifies potential and actual risks using the trust incident reporting system in line with trust policy and in line with their professional accountability. Identifies patients at risk and raises concerns appropriately on issues of child protection and the protection of vulnerable adults.
Takes appropriate action to manage emergency situations, summoning appropriate assistance where necessary. Acts in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct. Identifies unsafe practice and responds appropriately to ensure a safe outcome. Always acts in such a manner that promotes the positive image of the ward/clinical area and the Trust.
Produce Personal Development Profiles for self and staff within the team. Facilitate training, audit, and leadership. Perform staff rota, taking into account skill mix and budget under the supervision of the unit Matron. Demonstrate and understand the standards regarding Outpatient Settings and have an awareness of capacity and demand within the unit.
Resolve conflict using a range of problem-solving styles and skills. Deputise in the absence of the unit matron. Participate in the unit's recruitment and retention in conjunction with the unit Matron. Reduce sickness absence, workplace accidents, and promote zero tolerance on violence against staff.
