Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays 8am to 10pm. This is an on-site role. This job has been rated as Medium Risk for requiring Hepatitis B immunisation vaccination is recommended, therefore Post Holders will be offered a Hep B immunisation. Flu jab recommended and will be offered. Clinical and non-clinical healthcare staff should be up to date with their routine immunisation, especially MMR. (Green book Chapter 12 Immunisation 1st March 2024 ). Additional vaccination may be required for staff working in a healthcare environment based upon risk assessment for the role being undertaken. Job Purpose: This is an exciting new role that will provide senior real time clinical management to support the smooth running of our urgent primary care services. The GP supervisor will play a pivotal role in co-ordinating available clinical resources, with a focus on patient safety, as well as real-time support to colleagues. By collaborating with key operational colleagues such as the Duty Manager Team and Clinical On-Call Director, the GP Supervisor will significantly contribute to the delivery of a safe and effective service for patients as well as developing the working environment for colleagues and clinicians. Key Responsibilities Operational Management Routinely monitor clinical queues, promptly identifying and addressing high-risk cases. These include those flagged by non-clinical colleagues or cases requiring urgent clinical input. Effectively allocate clinical resources to meet the demands of urgent care, which includes arranging face-to-face (F2F) appointments and coordinating home visits where necessary. Ensure that prescription requests from non-prescribing colleagues are managed in a timely and appropriate manner to support seamless patient care. Clinical Oversight Support the Duty Team Manager in identifying and mitigating clinical risks, which may involve safeguarding concerns or other issues in real-time. Proactively identify vulnerable cases, escalating these to relevant parties such as the Clinical Director On-Call, Silver On-Call, or other designated stakeholders to ensure proper attention and action. Review and manage cases in alignment with escalation protocols, escalating issues as required to safeguard patient safety and service quality. Collaboration and Communication Collaborate with Contact Centre Agents, Duty Managers, and Non-Clinical Queue Managers to ensure efficient case management and resource allocation. Act as an accessible clinical resource for non-clinical colleagues across LCD, providing timely guidance and support. Maintain consistent and clear communication with the Duty Manager, Silver On-Call, and Clinical Director On-Call, offering updates on significant concerns or clinical insights. Continuous Improvement Stay updated and contribute towards the evolution of relevant procedures to ensure compliance with organisational standards (including SOP 86 LCDs OPEL Protocol) Engage in discussions and initiatives aimed at enhancing the delivery of services and improving the quality of care within the LCD Hub. Participate in LCDs internal clinical audit and quality improvement activities. COMMUNICATIONS & RELATIONSHIPS To ensure agreed lines of communication and reporting are implemented within the team to support all employees understanding LCD business plans, objectives, priorities and changes. To promote effective cross-functional working and that the operational team supports the achievement of objectives, standards and protocols of other LCD areas. To attend internal LCD meetings and engaging in discussions appropriate to the role and level of the post. PATIENT CARE To ensure that the quality of patient care is firmly at the centre of the organisations objectives and vision. To ensure the management and monitoring of the highest standards or safety and quality in the delivery of healthcare and related services and manage risk within Local Care Direct. FINANCIAL RESOURCES To ensure financial policies and procedures are maintained and the budget is adhered to and that best value for money is achieved. CONFIDENTIALITY To operate and ensure the team operates within information governance protocols and that business confidentiality is maintained at all times. TRAINING To complete the defined company induction programme and core training for this role and mandatory refresher training thereafter and ensure that accurate records of training are maintained.
