JOB TITLE: Receptionist / Administrator
Working Hours:
Mon – 13:00-20:00, Tue – 08:00-18:30, Wed – 13:00-18:30, Thurs - off, Fri - 13:00 – 18:30
ADDITIONAL HOURS: May be required/ offered to cover holiday, sickness or increased workload (occasional Saturday / Flu, Covid clinics).
PLACE OF WORK: Based at both The Deeping Practice and Glinton Surgery.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Reception Supervisors, Practice Manager.

The Deepings Practice is a large practice based in Market Deeping with a branch site at Glinton, serving over 24,000 patients. We have a strong focus on health promotion and personalized care, supporting patients to make informed decisions about their health and social care.
Job Summary:
Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way. Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Main Duties:
Reception:
1. Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and visitors.
2. Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures, and make new and follow-up appointments.
3. Using your judgment and communication skills, ensure that patients needing urgent consultation are seen appropriately.
4. Explain Practice arrangements and ensure procedures are completed for new patients and those seeking temporary cover.
5. Receive and make telephone calls, divert calls, and take messages accurately.
6. Process all email correspondence, including AccuRx’s, in a timely manner.
7. Advise patients of relevant charges for private services, accept payment, and issue receipts.
8. Assist in all administration related to the work of the reception team.
Administration:
1. Enter/scan patient information onto the computer as required.
2. Deal with incoming post and issue to relevant departments.
3. Retrieve and re-file patient records as required.
4. Ensure correspondence, reports, and results are filed promptly and correctly.
General:
1. Ensure the waiting room is kept tidy.
2. Open up premises at the start of the day if required.
3. Complete all close down procedures for Reception at the end of the day.
4. Ensure all new patients are registered onto the computer system promptly and accurately.
5. Undertake any other additional duties as requested by the Reception Supervisors or Practice Manager.

Pay: £11.44 per hour
