Work Hours/Days: Part-Time, 2-3 days per week, typical school day with after-school and occasional morning sessions
Position Summary: Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Colorado (ACANC) is seeking a part-time Orchestra Teacher to join our Fine Arts department. This role is ideal for a passionate music educator who enjoys working with middle and high school students in a classical, character-centered academic environment. The position includes leading middle school orchestra classes, co-conducting junior ensembles, and supporting high school orchestra programs.
Essential Functions:
* Teach a 50-minute Middle School Orchestra class 2-3 times per week.
* Conduct two annual concerts (Winter and Spring) as part of the school's music program.
* Co-conduct two Junior Orchestra ensembles twice per week after school (3:05-3:40 PM) and occasionally in the morning (before school).
* Conduct High School Orchestra Club or class, which meets on Fridays during advisory (2:05-2:55 PM) or after school (3:00-3:40 PM).
* Prepare unit and lesson plans for all instructional activities in alignment with ACANC educational goals.
* Perform basic repairs and maintenance on string instruments to ensure they remain in good condition for student use.
* Provide support to the band or choir programs during planning time, depending on skill set.
* Participate in professional development and school-wide activities, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree required (music-related degree preferred).
* Strong proficiency in string pedagogy and basic instrument maintenance.
* Ability to work collaboratively with other music instructors and contribute to the development of a dynamic Fine Arts program.

Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds and supervise outdoor activities.
* Ability to move around the classroom and school as needed.
