A leading London-based main contractor requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join them to deliver a £16m commercial fit-out in London.
You will have a direct line of communication with the board. This business prides itself in repeat client businesses based on high-performance models on previous projects.

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will lead the project reporting to an experienced Commercial Director.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:
1. Provide advice on cost implications of design decisions and propose value engineering solutions.
2. Conduct cost analyses and cost forecasting to support project planning and decision-making.
3. Manage and lead a team of quantity surveyors, providing guidance and mentorship.
4. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure cost control and effective project delivery.
5. Prepare and submit progress claims and final accounts, including managing contractual disputes if they arise.
6. Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies related to costs.
7. Keep up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying.
8. Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for construction projects.
9. Conduct quantity take-offs and measurements from architectural and engineering drawings.
10. Analyse project specifications and identify potential cost-saving measures.
11. Advise on procurement strategies and assist in the selection of subcontractors and suppliers.
12. Negotiate and prepare contracts, including variations and change orders.
13. Monitor project costs and expenditures, ensuring they align with the approved budget.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
1. Previous experience of running £16m+ projects working for a main contractor.
2. Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
3. Minimum 7 years' experience in Quantity Surveyor role, specialising in internals/fit-out.
4. Commercially aware with extensive knowledge of all disciplines involved in the construction process including design coordination, quantity surveying and procurement.
