If so, we want to hear from you We’re looking for a Business Improvement & Innovation Lead to establish and lead the Continuous Improvement & Innovation Department for the CWA team working on Sizewell C. This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in building the UK’s next nuclear power station, a crucial part of our low-carbon energy future. What you’ll do: Lead and build a centre of excellence in continuous improvement and innovation. Develop and execute a strategy to enhance the operational efficiency and productivity of the project. Drive the adoption of Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to improve processes across all project phases. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring every project benefit is maximised. Implement visual management systems and routines to enhance transparency and track performance metrics. Develop and manage issue management processes to identify, track, and resolve operational problems promptly. Facilitate the capture and integration of lessons learned into ongoing and future projects. Facilitate problem solving workshops Develop and execute a comprehensive continuous improvement and innovation strategy and roadmap aligned with the CWA’s strategic goals and objectives. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation across all project phases, capitalising on lessons learned, as well as identifying external best practices and technology new trends. Collaborate with project stakeholders to prioritise initiatives and allocate resources effectively. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of continuous improvement and innovation efforts. Sizewell C is more than just a construction project; it’s a game-changer for the UK’s energy infrastructure, supplying low-carbon electricity to around 6 million homes for at least 60 years. What we’re looking for: Extensive experience in business improvement and innovation, ideally within large-scale construction or civil engineering projects, with a strong track record of leading successful transformation initiatives. Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, Design Thinking, and Agile methodologies to streamline processes, reduce waste, and optimise project performance. A deep understanding of process mapping and streamlining techniques, with the ability to apply advanced methodologies to identify inefficiencies and drive measurable improvements. A proven ability to establish and manage continuous improvement and innovation functions within complex organisations, building a team of experts and ensuring alignment with strategic business goals. A strong technical background in engineering, construction management, or a related field, with a solid grasp of project management principles. Experience working with high-level stakeholders such as government bodies, regulators, investors, and contractors to deliver complex projects on time and within budget. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate teams, collaborate across functions, and influence change at all levels of the organisation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of assessing complex situations and developing effective solutions.
