Clinical Negligence Department Background:
Our team offers sensitive and expert advice to bereaved families who have lost a loved one as a result of medical (clinical) negligence or medical injury during treatment and wish to make a 'no win no fee' claim for compensation. Our team is known for being caring and considerate; they go the extra mile for our clients, supporting them at every stage of the claims process, with the objective of obtaining maximum compensation. Our team deals with a range of Clinical Negligence including birth injuries, cosmetic surgery, dental/ hospital negligence, medical misdiagnosis and medical / surgical negligence.
Main Responsibilities of the Role:
1. Report directly to Department Director
2. Professional pro-active approach, strong client care skills and a sensitive and sympathetic understanding of clients' needs
3. Assisting with casework including dealing with a range of Clinical Negligence cases
4. Attending clients, taking instructions and preparing cases
5. Dealing with correspondence
6. Managing a challenging case-load of clients' matters from inception to completion
7. Preparing draft documents including witness statements and processing evidence
8. Attending conferences and court
9. Maintaining accurate time costing procedures
10. Implementing any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews ensuring that these are dealt with promptly
11. Ensuring compliance with file management
Key Skills Required:
1. Demonstrate passion and experience in a broad range of Clinical Negligence matters
2. A strong academic background with a Law degree
3. Legal experience as a Clinical Negligence Paralegal/Advisor
4. Clear understanding and application of Clinical Negligence and CPR Laws
5. Business acumen and the ability to market the Company
6. Excellent communications skills to work effectively with all types of people
7. Excellent analytical and organisational skills and ability to use own initiative but know when to seek guidance
8. Committed team player, self -motivated and professional
9. Excellent IT Skills -familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills
