The Assistant Housing Officer will work within a dedicated housing management team and be responsible for managing voids and the reletting of properties. The Council has committed to increasing the number of affordable homes across the district and the Assistant Housing Officer will be involved in this exciting process. The role will include home and site visits and key administration services and associated transactional work and will help housing staff to provide an excellent customer focused housing management service.
Who We Are Looking For:
- The ability to communicate clearly, both in written and verbal form, adapting style and approach to meet the needs of a diverse community.
- Proficient in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and internet-based systems.
- Ability to use negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload by effective time management.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage own workload.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Previous experience of working within a customer/transactional services team or other front-line operational experience in dealing with tenants, customers or members of the public.
- Experience of working within a housing related background (desirable).
- GCSE English and Maths Grades A-C or level 4-9 or equivalent.
- Ability to work flexibly.
- Previous experience/knowledge of dealing with safeguarding/welfare situations.
