About the Role
You will be responsible for managing all of our electrical activities and ensuring they comply with current regulations and standards, as well as meeting Mears policy standards. You will support all Electrical Supervisors/Managers, carry out audits either in person or remotely, and report on all electrical investigations.
Mears Group nationwide has 28 NICEIC accredited branches and approximately 50 EQS and 375 electricians across both domestic and public buildings sectors.
This is a regional role that will involve travel and overnight stays. A company car or car allowance, phone, tablet, and laptop will be supplied.
The key requirements of the role include being a fully qualified electrician (NICEIC EQS standard to EAS criteria), having QS & social housing experience, a full UK Driving License, and a drive and passion to promote electrical safety.
Role Criteria:
1. Good all-round knowledge of electrical installations and current regulations and standards.
2. Strong communication skills at all levels, including good written, verbal, and numeracy skills.
3. Good people skills.
4. Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
5. Able to motivate others; good counseling, mentoring, and coaching skills.
6. Experience in auditing and assessing others for electrical competence and compliance.
7. Able to work to agreed targets with good time management skills.
8. Maintain CPD and Electrical Qualifying Supervisor status.
9. A full current Driving License.
10. Experience of working in social housing.
11. Previous experience working as a QS.
12. Experience using Microsoft Office and Android mobile devices.
Essential Qualifications:
1. Must meet current Electrotechnical Assessment Specification (EAS) as required by the NICEIC for Electrical Qualified Supervisors.
2. Full base (craft) qualifications in electrical installation levels 2 and 3 equivalent, NVQ3 and AM2.
3. An inspection & testing qualification for both initial verification and condition reporting to level 3.
4. An 18th edition qualification.
