Finance Manager Job Type: Full-time, Perm Location: Gateshead Salary: 40-50k depending on experience We are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee our finance function, ensuring all financial records are accurate and management accounts are produced timely. This role is integral to our management team, supporting decision-making processes and managing the on-site accounts team. Day-to-day of the role: Act as a key member of the management team, supporting the Managing Director and participating in high-level decision-making. Manage the on-site accounts team and attend monthly management meetings with other management members. Produce monthly management accounts promptly, including flash figures within 3 working days of month-end and final figures within 8 days. Liaise with the Finance function at our Shrewsbury site regarding inter-company balances and other financial matters. Handle all interactions with HMRC, including submissions for PAYE, VAT, Corporation Tax, and other statutory requirements. Ensure the accuracy of the General Ledger and the Trial Balance, and manage the production of Year End accounts with specific adjustments. Collaborate with financial auditors to ensure a satisfactory audit completion. Develop annual budgets and in-year forecasts in conjunction with the Managing Director. Oversee capital project spending and provide cash forecasts. Manage the Sales Ledger, Credit Insurance limits, and Purchase Ledger, ensuring all balances are correct and payments are authorised. Oversee bank transactions and payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance. Manage the company’s Auto-enrolment pension scheme and Life Assurance cover. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, and HR policies. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in financial management and accounting within a similar role. Strong leadership skills and experience managing a finance team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders. Proficiency in financial software and systems. Knowledge of statutory financial obligations and regulations. Ability to produce accurate financial reports and forecasts. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
