Belmont Recruitment are seeking an experienced Pensions Officer to work with Oldham Council on a temporary assignment with an initial duration of three months. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week (Mon – Fri) offering hybrid working.
The incoming Pensions Officer will work closely with the Payroll Lead to ensure the effective delivery of pensions processes, statutory returns, and compliance with pension regulations. You will also provide technical guidance and support to Pension Officers and key stakeholders.
Main Duties:
* Ensure accurate and timely processing of pension requests and notifications
* Support the production of annual returns and statutory reports
* Provide guidance to Pension Officers and ensure compliance with pension regulations
* Assist in system developments related to payroll and pensions, utilizing MHR iTrent and pension scheme systems
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external organisations
* Contribute to audits and ensure pension data is maintained securely
Essential Criteria:
* Experience in pensions administration within a Local Authority or Public Sector role
* Knowledge of pension legislation, including Local Government Pension Scheme, Teachers’ Pension Scheme, NHS Pension Scheme, and NEST Pension Scheme
* Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to interpret pension regulations
