We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Supply Chain Manager to join our Procurement Team. This role is key to ensure the Trust has an effective, efficient and comprehensive Supply Chain service.
As an Assistant Supply Chain Manager, it will be necessary to understand the Procurement Strategy, as this role will be responsible for providing the operational planning and leadership across the Supplies Section. This includes the Goods Distribution Centre, Domestics Stores, Pathology Stores and service provision of ward and clinic top-up for stocked items.
They will be responsible for the line management of the Supplies Team and the development of an evolving Supply Chain Function.
Main duties of the job
* To manage on a day-to-day basis all aspects of the service provided by the Supplies Section/ Goods Distribution Centre.
* To manage all relevant Human Resources for Supplies staff including recruitment, performance management, attendance management, training and development and appraisal.
* To work towards eliminating waste by ensuring processes are efficient utilising lean methodology.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM Level 3) or equivalent
* Minimum of 1 year experience in Purchase and Supply Chain in a healthcare environment
* Previous knowledge of medical products and suppliers
Knowledge and Experience
* Excellent working knowledge of supply chain and internal logistics theory and practical application.
* To be able to demonstrate understanding of Health & Safety in the department and particularly Manual Handling Procedures i.e. evidence can be provided by proof of course attendance.
