ELC Pupil Support Worker - 16 hours per week, Tuesday and Wednesday on a shift rota.
Polkemmet is situated within the village of Whitburn and serves the local area. The setting consists of AM, PM, and full-day learners aged between two and five. The ELC provides spacious learning areas and has a large outdoor and garden area. The setting is open 50 weeks per year, and staff work flexibly on a rota across the opening hours.
Polkemmet ELC is seeking to appoint a highly motivated pupil support worker to join our Nursery team. The successful candidate will work as part of a forward-thinking team, bringing a sound knowledge of child development and responding to the individual needs of each child, providing high-quality interactions and learning experiences.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. The SSSC stipulates that you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with the SSSC, you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
