Our Client is currently looking to appoint a dynamic Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the team and contribute to projects across all commercial aspects of the business. \n\nBased in Leeds, this role will involve site visits when necessary and offers the opportunity to work primarily within the Passive Fire Division, but also across various other areas of the business.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to develop their career within the Quantity Surveying field and gain exposure to diverse projects while progressing in a growing and supportive environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nReview and ensure adherence to contract terms and conditions.\nAttend sites as required to ensure commercial compliance is followed.\nEnsure timely and accurate submission of applications and invoices, in line with contract terms.\nManage commercial aspects of change events, ensuring successful outcomes.\nAssist with managing debtors and supporting the credit control team with outstanding payments.\nProvide monthly reporting of WIP (Work in Progress) and CVRs (Cost Value Reports).\nReview weekly operational reports for commercial tracking.\nProvide commercial and contractual support on projects, attending progress meetings, and assisting with programme management, particularly under NEC contracts.\nManage subcontractors commercially, including order placement, application certification, change management, and final account agreement.\nHelp resolve financial or contractual disputes with clients, and assist with final account management on projects.\nMentor and guide junior members of the team.About You:\n\nPrevious experience in the contractor environment is essential.\nExperience in passive fire protection would be advantageous but is not required (training will be provided).\nA degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar industry-recognised qualification.\nAt least 3 years of post-graduate experience in a Quantity Surveying role.\nSolid understanding of standard construction contracts, including JCT and NEC.\nFamiliarity with applications, contract change management, subcontractor procurement, and project reporting.\nStrong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to manage costs and value effectively.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.\nGood written and verbal communication skills, with a professional manner.\nStrong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and maintain attention to detail.\nA flexible, adaptable approach and the ability to work well as part of a team.Apply: Contact Hayley Woodruff on (phone number removed) or apply with your CV to (url removed)\n\nBuilding Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
