Summary
The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating purchasing activities to ensure an efficient supply chain process. This role will involve handling over 500 SKUs, managing purchase orders, liaising with suppliers and freight forwarders, and ensuring inventory levels are maintained according to demand forecasts. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, experience in procurement, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
This is a Hybrid position that requires 2 office days per week.
Responsibilities
1. SKU Management: Oversee the lifecycle of more than 500 SKUs, from the first order (NPD) to product discontinuation.
2. Purchase Order Management: Create and manage purchase orders with UK, EU, and international vendors based on pre-existing demand forecasts.
3. Systems Utilization: Use Master Requirement Planning (MRP) systems and Excel tools daily for accurate purchasing decisions.
4. Supplier Coordination: Liaise with suppliers to expedite orders, ensuring timely delivery of materials and products.
5. Freight & Logistics: Coordinate with freight forwarders for shipment arrangements, manage Bills of Lading (BOLs), quotations, and invoices.
6. Cross-Department Communication: Collaborate with Finance, Customer Services, Sales, Marketing, NPD, and Demand Planning teams, attending key meetings and providing necessary reports and updates.
7. Product Transition Management: Develop and manage schedules for phase-in/phase-out of products, artwork changes, and other transitions.
8. Stock Management: Serve as the point of contact for an assigned list of SKUs, ensuring adequate inventory levels are maintained.
9. Issue Resolution: Identify and address supply issues proactively, proposing solutions to mitigate risks.
10. Escalation & Reporting: Escalate critical supply chain issues to management when necessary and provide data-driven insights.
The Role Requirements:
* Educated to degree level. Professional Training Education/Qualification in Supply Chain (E.G. CILT) preferred
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position within Procurement / Inventory planning and purchasing.
* Proven history in the use of MRP tools
* Experience dealing with overseas vendors and shipment arrangement with freight forwarders
* Medium-High level of Excel
* Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
