Job summary
Here at Wincobank Medical Centre, we have 2 exciting opportunities to work within out friendly Reception Team.
Firstly we are looking for someone to join our Reception team on a permanent basis, working 26 hours per week.
Secondly we are looking for someone to join our Reception team on a temporary basis, working 26 hours per week until January 2026 covering maternity leave.
The role of a Receptionist can at times be very demanding, so we are looking for someone who is confident, has excellent communication skills, is organised and good at multitasking.
Experience is General Practice or NHS work is desirable but not essentail as training will be given.
Main duties of the job
1. Open and close surgery premisses, including checking and securing the premises at the end of the day
2. Direct patients on their arrival
3. Process requests for repeat prescription, ready to be checked by a GP
4. Pass on visit requests
5. Deal with all general enquiries face to face at the front desk and over the phone
6. Explain the surgeries procedures
7. Make new and follow up appointments
8. Receive and pass on relevant messages to clinical and managerial staff
9. Ensure all urgent and non urgent tasks are completed in a timely manner

We are a teaching practice, so we have a variety of trainees at the practice, whom you may meet at Wincobank Medical Centre.
