Band 6 - Junior Sister/Charge Nurse SACT Unit
The unit consists of 5 chairs providing systemic anti-cancer treatments. This is a small friendly team providing high quality patient care. This is a patient-facing role and requires you to be able to work under pressure and have previous experience of working in a day unit administering systemic anti-cancer treatment (SACT).
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will be expected to liaise appropriately with all key members of the multi-disciplinary team and service users related to the specialty. They will be responsible for all aspects of patient care including the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation. They will act as a role model and mentor, promoting excellence through practice and taking responsibility for supervision and development of all staff including student nurses and support workers, providing support, advice, and training. We support ongoing training and development both in-house and with external courses/programmes. The successful candidate is required to demonstrate the Trust values and the responsibilities of the job description and person specification.

Experience
* Significant post-registration experience of working in an acute hospital setting
* Evidence of experience in conducting quality audits
* Experience in the administration of cytotoxic therapy, cannulation, and phlebotomy skills
* Good knowledge of haematological and oncological disorders
