Are you a dynamic and experienced General Practitioner with a passion for leadership and patient care? Nimbuscare is seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Urgent Care Lead.
Role Overview:
The Urgent Care Lead will play a pivotal role in overseeing the recruitment, induction, and management of GPs within our Integrated Urgent Care team. This position is crucial for maintaining high standards of patient care and service delivery while fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for our staff.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
* Recruitment and Induction: Lead the interview and selection process for new GPs, ensuring adherence to best practices and equal opportunity standards. Oversee the induction process, providing comprehensive orientation and training for new team members.
* Staff Management: Implement and monitor performance management systems, provide regular feedback, and coordinate professional development opportunities in collaboration with the Education by Nimbuscare team.
* Leadership and Support: Offer clear, visible leadership to GPs, promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
* Compliance and Clinical Governance: Work closely with the Associate Director of Clinical Governance to maintain patient safety and high standards of care.
* Service Development and Improvement: Identify trends and opportunities for service improvement, develop policies and processes to assure compliance with regulatory bodies, and monitor the implementation of improvement plans. Drive the strategic Integrated Urgent Care agenda forward.

Job responsibilities
* Recruitment and Induction: Lead the interview and selection process for new GPs, ensuring adherence to best practices and equal opportunity standards. Oversee the induction process for new GPs, ensuring they receive comprehensive orientation and training.
* Staff Management: Work with the Audit Lead to implement and monitor performance management systems for GPs, providing regular feedback. Collaborate with the Associate Director of HR to manage staff welfare and offer appropriate support.
* Leadership and Support: Provide clear, visible leadership and support to GPs, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
* Compliance and Clinical Governance: Ensure all recruitment, induction, and staff management practices comply with Nimbuscare policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
* Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of recruitment processes, GP performance, and professional development activities.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
* Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practice.
* Strong understanding of clinical governance and compliance standards.
* Knowledge of current NHS issues and priorities.
* Diploma in Urgent Medical Care.
Experience
* Significant experience working as a GP in urgent care.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Proven experience in recruitment and staff management.
* Experience in service development and strategic planning.
