What you’ll do:
* Lead and manage bids and tender submissions for the Transport business, reporting to the Business Development Director.
* Manage and lead Bid Teams in Warwick and London, planning resources to pursue opportunities.
* Ensure optimal resource utilization across the business to maximize opportunities.
* Oversee the end-to-end management and production of high-quality, successful bids, adhering to telent’s bid procedures.
* Continuously improve bid quality and adopt best practices.
* Monitor bid costs and seek ongoing improvements in bid ROI.
* Develop relationships with existing and potential customers through meetings and presentations.
* Manage Bid team performance, KPIs, and SLAs.
* Lead bid strategies from Go/No Go to submission, including post-submission support and proposal preparation.
* Plan workload, forecast bids, track costs, and report on win/loss outcomes.
* Conduct bid reviews and recommend improvements.
* Maintain and update the Bid library (wiki).
Who you are:
Key requirements:
* Extensive experience leading high-performing Bid Teams, improving bid success rates.
* Experience in winning bids for Public Sector markets like Traffic, Rail, Defence, Emergency Services.
* Strong project management and organizational skills.
* Financial literacy to interpret reports and models.
* Broad knowledge of Traffic, Rail, Telecom, and IT products and services.
* APMP or equivalent qualification with proven bid success.
* Ability to craft compelling, compliant tender responses.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills.
* Experience in writing quality responses and financial bid responses.
* Leadership skills with a track record of building successful bid teams.
* Experience delivering high and medium-value bids in services or solutions environments.
* Ability to develop simple solutions for complex challenges.
* Excellent interpersonal, persuasive, and influencing skills.
* Ability to identify customer needs and develop commercial propositions.
* Strong communication skills at all organizational levels.
* Positive, proactive attitude with ownership and accountability.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* High emotional intelligence and pride in quality work.
