Job summary The NHS Research and Delivery (R&D) Departments led by the R&D Director provide local services for research support and facilitates for the sponsoring and hosting of studies within each University Health Board (UHB). Part of this service includes a specialist Cardiothoracic NHS research delivery team consisting of Research Nurses and a Research Administration Manager employed by NHS organisations to support the delivery of high quality Cardiothoracic health and social care studies. Main duties of the job An exciting opportunity has become available within the cardiothoracic research nursing team to appoint a new nursing lead within the service The research nurse will be leading the team delivering cardiothoracic research throughout the University Health Board. We are seeking a band 7 nurse with a keen interest in research to manage and drive the service forward to deliver a varied portfolio. The post holder will have a specialist knowledge in either cardiothoracic surgery or cardiology. The post holder will work autonomously in the management of a caseload of clinical trial patients, whilst leading the team. The post holder will be able to maintain effective communication with patients, carers and professionals to ensure high quality service delivery. The post holder will be based within the Sir Geraint Evans Cardiovascular Research Building at UHW, supporting researchers with high quality studies throughout the health board. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
